Mostly 40″ Full containers are handled in ports in Turkey.
The most handled container (TEU) in ports in Turkey is the 40″ Full container and its share in the total handled TEU is 58.30% in 2004 and 55.17% in 2020. On the other hand, the share of the 20″ Full container in the total handled TEU was 32.04% in 2004 and 21.74% in 2020.
Total TEU handled increased by 4.98 times in 2020 compared to 2004, from 2,332,557 TEU to 11,625,650 TEU. In the 2004-2020 period, the highest increase was in the 40″ Full container group, with a 17.65-fold increase.
