TAPA reported in October 2020 that over €100 Million was imposed in the EMEA region despite the problems caused by Covid-19 in the supply chain and the economic contraction. When tapa’s rates on load crimes are examined retrospectively, partnerships are found in the top 5 crimes. Load crimes are mainly in the form of theft of cargo in the vehicle and theft from unknown or unreliable parking spaces.
The most critical point in freight crime is thefts in unknown or unreliable parking spaces that account for close to 70% of freight crimes (Unknown Parking Spaces+3rd Party Service Providers). The reported loss of reliable parking in the economies of the EMEA region exceeds the €50 million band in 2020.
Emphasizing that the loss due to cargo theft in the world logistics sector is increasing every year, the report shows us the importance of reliable parking spaces that are not important in the sector and mentions that we can prevent the loss of hundreds of millions of dollars in the global economy with the establishment of these structures.
