In transportation, 94% of TEP belongs to “road” transportation.
In 2021, 94.26% of the total energy in the transportation sector was consumed by road transportation, 3.12% by air transportation, 1.20% by sea transportation and 0.71% by rail transportation.
The total amount of energy consumed in the transportation sector increased by 250.37% in 2021 compared to 1990, reaching 30,562 tons, while in the same period, it increased by 259.51% on road to 28,809 tons and on railways decreased by 8.9% to 217 tons.
Of the 28,809 tons of energy consumed in road transportation in 2021, 98.97% is oil, 0.23% is natural gas, 0.80% is bioenergy, and of the 217 tons of energy consumed in railway transportation, 48.52% is oil and 51% is .48 of which is electricity.
