1 BILLION TL IS RETURNED EVERY DAY IN ROAD TRANSPORT IN TURKEY…

In Turkey, approximately 450 thousand trucks are transported in FTL per day. The monthly FTL transport volume is over 13.5 million trucks. Our country, where 850 thousand trucks are on the road, has the largest truck market in Europe. 1.2 million SRC certified truck drivers earn their living directly from transportation.

HIGHLIGHTS IN TIRPORT’S DATA FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2020

In TIRPORT, Turkey’s leading digital platform in the logistics sector, a total of 297,657 trucks were transported in the first 6 months of 2020. According to 6-month data, an average of 282 km per truck trip. made the way. The axis with the heaviest truck traffic and the lowest freight price in Turkey was the Istanbul-Adana line. The highest freight prices were realized on Istanbul-Hakkari and Istanbul-Diyarbakır lines, with 7 thousand TL from time to time. The lines with the heaviest truck traffic were the Istanbul-Ankara and Ankara-Adana/Mersin lines.

Rize, Diyarbakır, Hakkari, Şırnak and Trabzon are at the top of the provinces in Turkey where truckers wait the most to find a return load or have to return without receiving a load. If the trucker chooses to wait, the waiting time for the load can be up to 3.5 days. Mersin and Adana are at the top of the provinces with the fastest return load. Another interesting data is on the lines from Bursa to Kocaeli, Sakarya, Gebze, Balıkesir and Istanbul. Freight charges on these lines can vary by more than +/- 50% from week to week, depending on the instantaneous supply and demand situations.

Bread is in the lion’s mouth for truckers on the roads of Turkey, where there is great competition. No one has a return load guarantee. The ordeal of the trucker does not end in summer or winter.

DESPITE COVID-19, LIFE FOR TRUCKER JUST DIDN’T WAIT HOME :((

In the sector, 90% of which are crushed by tax debt, and many of them pay monthly loan installments of more than one thousand EUR, a performance of less than 8-9 times a month puts truckers into financial difficulties!
According to the official data of the General Directorate of Highways (KGM), 90% of the transportation in our country, where sea and railways are not developed, is done by highways. 1.2 million truck drivers with SRC certificates are on the road with 850 thousand trucks.
More than 8,000 logistics/transport companies operate in Turkey. Around 80 thousand truckers are waiting for cargo in the cooperative of nearly 500 motor carriers, most of which are located around the leading factories and ports.

THE FOLLOWING LOGISTICS FIRMS ARE ATTRACTED AT THE TOP 20 MANAGEMENT OF THE LARGEST OPERATIONS:

Netlog, Ekol, Ceva, Alisan, Mars, Horoz, Borusan, Omsan, Arkas, Gökbora, Barsan, Sertrans, Solmaz, Fevzi Gandur, Reysaş, Orkun, Hilal, Kıta, Taha…
In the highly dispersed Turkish logistics market, the daily FTL transportation average of the top 5 logistics companies is around 2,500 trucks. In other words, Turkey’s largest logistics companies do not have even 1% market share in the market.

A DAY, 300 THOUSAND TRUCK LOADS FROM SPOT. 500 MILLION TL CASH IS RETURNED EVERY DAY ONLY IN THE SPOT MARKET…

In Turkey, where 450 thousand FTL of transportation is made per day, the volume of transportation contracted by logistics companies is only one third of the total volume, around 150 thousand trucks per day. The remaining 300 thousand trucks are transported directly in the spot market. It is carried out in a closed ecosystem in the triangle of Ambar-Simsar-Door front. The owner of the vehicle, the trucker, asks for ready-made cargoes with commissions of 100-500 TL depending on the load, through the brokers at the transportation sites or the vehicle transportation brokers, and carries out the transportation with simple contracts with the loader.

95% of the trucks on the roads belong to individuals

In the last two decades, the number of their own fleets, defined as ÖZMAL, of large logistics companies engaged in contract logistics, has decreased rapidly. Rising costs and the heavy burdens of contracts have driven companies away from self-ownership. The self-owned ratio of many large logistics companies fell below 5%. There are such logistics companies that they carry out 2,500 shipments per day, and they do not have a single self-owned vehicle. Everyone collects trucks using primitive methods from garages, cooperatives and shipping sites, with their own truck supply systems.
Turkey’s largest logistics company can carry out FTL transportation of nearly 3,000 trucks per day. With this volume, it can only get 0.7% market share in the market. Its own property ratio is around 20%, and it tries to keep 25-30 thousand truck spot truckers candidates ready in its portfolio in order to be able to reach it at any time in order to be able to carry out its operations in a healthy way. All extra cost 🙁

IN OUR COUNTRY, 90% OF TRANSPORTATION IS MADE BY HIGHWAYS, THE DAILY FREIGHT RETURN IN THE TRANSPORTATION SECTOR IS OVER 1 BILLION TL

TIRPORT (www.tirport.com) digitizes logistics operations management from end to end in Turkey, where daily transportation of 300 thousand FTL takes place directly in the spot market, outside the sphere of influence of logistics companies. Loaders and load carriers come together in the spot market with the TIRPORT LoadCEPte application. Param TIRPORT KART with electronic money infrastructure, which has started to become the preferred payment tool of the sector, enters as a %22Secure Payment Tool%22 between the loader and the trucker.

PARAM TIRPORT KARD IS THE NEW GENERATION PAYMENT TOOL OF THE LOGISTICS INDUSTRY

The new generation Param TIRPORT Cards with TIRPASS feature and Troy logo provide truckers with up to 7% discounted fuel at the pumps at contracted gas stations, collect freight charges in cash from contracted station cashiers, and instantly enjoy discounted shopping from many Param contracted member businesses.
With the PARAM TIRPORT Card, the cargo owner safely entrusts the cargo to the TIRPORT trucker, makes the payment to TIRPORT, while the trucker transports the goods with the TIRPORT assurance, uploads the delivery documents digitally via the TIRPORT App and can safely receive his money as agreed.
Turkey’s leading digital platform in the logistics sector, TIRPORT, reached 42 thousand active truckers at the end of the first 6 months of 2020. It provides operations management services to nearly 500 SMEs and transportation companies. The number of FTL transports it manages daily has exceeded 2,000. It aims to reach 4 thousand transports per day by the end of 2020, and to exceed 25 thousand transports per day by the end of 2022. 20 thousand of the targeted 25 thousand transports will be carried out as logistics operations management services provided to logistics companies and large manufacturers, and 5 thousand daily transports will be performed directly in the spot market via TIRPORT.
